Using EPOP:2023 data, the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) calls attention to Latino business owners’ contributions to the U.S. economy and the unique challenges they face. AEO uses EPOP:2023 data to study Latino entrepreneurs—to quantify their numbers, recognize the priority they place on growing their businesses, and note that they face inequitable access to resources and support.

EPOP in Indiana

Based on the national EPOP Survey, the Entrepreneurship in the Population: Indiana (EPOP-IN) project focuses on experiences with and interest in entrepreneurship in Indiana.  The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) conducted EPOP-IN to learn about self-employment and business formation issues specific to residents in their state.   The study collected data from August to November 2022.  Click here for EPOP-IN information, data, and reports about the study.

Data Dive Webinar on EPOP 2022 Findings

On 10/27/22 the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation hosted a webinar “Data Dive: Year 1 Findings from the NORC Entrepreneurship in the Population Survey.”

The webinar focused on the EPOP Survey data release and initial findings from this new nationally representative survey.  NORC experts discussed entrepreneurship measures useful to both researchers and policymakers.  The Data Dive launched the conversation on using EPOP Survey data to gain a deeper understanding of the complex entrepreneurial pathways at national, state, and local levels.

Release of the Third Year of EPOP Data and Resources on Entrepreneurship

NORC at the University of Chicago announces the release of the public use data files and initial findings from EPOP:2024, the third year of the EPOP Survey. The EPOP Survey is an annual, cross-sectional, nationally representative study of about 30,000 U.S.-residing adults. Among other findings, EPOP:2024 data reveals that American entrepreneurs rely heavily on personal financial resources, rather than institutional funding, to launch their businesses.
